Last week, Mrs. Patel taught her first lesson on symbols. Students learned....
1. The flag is a symbol of our country.
2. The flag has 13 red and white stripes, one for each of the first 13 colonies.
3. The flag has 50 stars, one for each state in the nation.
4. The color red represents bravery, white represents innocence, and blue represents justice.
Thank you Mrs. Patel! We look forward to your next lesson!
Welcome to Room 36's blog! This blog is designed to be a shared experience for you and your child. It is my hope that this will spark communication between you and your student about school. Look forward to weekly polls, discussions, and featured class work.

Ten Dots
It is already the 17th day of school! Well...on the tenth day of school, we read Ten Black Dots.
Excerpt from the book Ten Black Dots.
After the reading, we created our own scene using 10 sticky dots. Students had to place dots on their scene, and ask, "How many more to get 10?" until they had a scene made of 10 dots! Take a look at a sample of their creative work!
